Intrauterine Insemination
This method of treatment is most commonly used to treat unexplained infertility and couples with minor sperm abnormalities.
It can also be used in conjunction with ovulation induction, when treating women with ovulation issues, such as Polycystic Ovarian Disease.
Intrauterine insemination is also offered to women who are seeking to achieve pregnancy using donor sperm.
Sperm is prepared in the laboratory and then injected into the womb through a procedure that resembles a PAP smear.
The procedure is timed using blood tests and ultrasound examinations to predict ovulation.
